Current projects:Establishing a relationship between the chain length of [SN]x and [SP]x and electron transport properties Well known inorganic [SN]∞ polymers is a conducting material at a room temperature and becomes a superconducting material below a liquid helium temperature. Together with Prof. John E. McGrady we calculate the electronic structure in isolation and electron transport properties of one dimensional [SN]∞ and [SP]∞ structures, i.e., [SN]x and [SP]x in which π - orbitals on sulfur and nitrogen (or phosphorus) (see Fig) overlap to form a conduction band. Our aim is to examine a relationship between the chain length of [SN]x and [SP]x and electron transport properties (including conductance) under bias.
